Paris Air Show, June 15, 2017 – Sécurité Civile has a large fleet of aerial firefighting fixed wing aircraft and SAR helicopters. In March 2017, the firefighting fleet was relocated from Marseille-Marignane to Nîmes–Alès–Camargue–Cévennes Airport, centralising aviation assets at the new Aerial Firefighting Training Centre and MRO facility.

Tangent Link will be attending this year’s Paris Air Show from June 19 to 22 (Hall No 4, Stand No B54). As part of the collaborative agreement with the Ministère de l’Intérieur, Tangent Link will be showcasing Aerial Firefighting Europe and Search and Rescue International, two separate symposiums, located in Nîmes France, week commencing 16 October 2017.

The region is being developed as an aerospace cluster allowing the aviation assets of Sécurité Civile to operate from one main operating base. For the first time, both the helicopters and fixed wing aircraft, as well as their maintenance facilities, are at one location. Longer term, Air Base Civil Security (ABSC) as it is termed, in the centre of the Mediterranean, will bid to become the civil protection hub for Europe.
