Bombardier Delivers First Hong Kong GFS SAR Challenger 605

Bombardier announced on December 3 that it has delivered the first of two specialized Challenger 605 aircraft ordered by the Hong Kong Government Flying Service (GFS). These multi-role aircraft can be used for search and rescue, VIP transportation, medical evacuation, as well as other special missions. The Challenger multi-role aircraft will replace the two existing GFS Jetstream 41 search and rescue aircraft currently operated for long-range search and rescue operations.

The Canadian manufacturer had announced the order for these aircraft on October 3, 2011. The first aircraft had spent the last three years being outfitted with its specialist equipment at Montreal-Mirabel Airport prior to delivery. Alan Warnes
