AUSTRIAN COMPANY Airborne Technologies announced at the Paris Air Show on June 16 that it is to provide the Croatian Ministry of Interior with a Beechcraft King Air 250 outfitted with a comprehensive maritime surveillance and border patrol system. The twin-turboprop will be acquired from Beechcraft Berlin and then converted at the company’s headquarters in Weiner Neustadt, Austria, where it will be fitted with Airborne’s scalable LINX package.
The Croatian equipment fit will include the Selex ES long-range maritime surveillance radar in a ventral pod, a FLIR Systems EO/IR laser turret and two operator workstations. Delivery is scheduled for July 2016. The company says it competed against Aerodata AG of Germany and Saab of Sweden to win the contract. Alan Warnes
