Swiss company RUAG Aviation has reached agreement with AEROSS of Brazil, to offer its technological skills to the Brazilian Air Force and its F-5s. AEROSS has an extensive experience in the maintenance repair and overhaul (MRO) of civilian aviation components as well as its local know-how and infrastructure. RUAG with its vast experience on F-5s will train the staff of its new partner in Brazil in a market it has had little experience in the past.
The two companies’ co-operation aims at reducing turnaround time and fleet maintenance costs through the provision of high quality component maintenance solutions locally – at AEROSS in Brazil and at RUAG Aviation in Switzerland. “RUAG Aviation is primarily involved in component maintenance for the Brazilian Air Force F-5 fleet as well as other military and commercial platforms in Brazil,” says Stephen Jezler, Senior Vice President of Aviation International at RUAG Aviation. “Co-operating with AEROSS allows us to domesticate the extensive capabilities we have developed in Brazil.”
“The combined capabilities and experience of our two companies improves the efficiency and effectiveness of the available life cycle support even further,” says Fabio Quiles CEO at AEROSS. “This teaming agreement benefits all involved, especially the Brazilian Air Force.”
